We're seeking the help of community members and businesses to complete our $210,000 fundraising effort to finalize the purchase of the MV Teal, the new home of the Discover Cayuga Lake Floating Classroom!  We're calling our campaign "A Boat For Everyone" because the continuing mission of the Floating Classroom is to provide great experiences for everyone.  Each year, we take over 1500 students onto the lake, and provide financial assistance to make sure no one is left behind.  The Teal, and our new Eco-Tourism initiative, will help us provide more lake access and educational programming than ever before.  You can help!  Donate to Discover Cayuga Lake's A Boat for Everyone campaign.

The MV Teal is a 63-foot cruiser that

  • provides reliable & flexible service

  • lets us work with larger classes and groups

  • supports volunteer lake monitoring

  • will accommodate on-board wind and solar

  • generates eco-tourism revenue to sustain our community mission!

science on Cayuga Lake!

MV Teal is on the water as of May 2018

The current anonymous owner of the MV Teal is letting us use it for our programming while we push to complete our fundraising and finally buy the MV Teal. That means classrooms are out with us on Cayuga Lake doing science! With your help, we expect to be able to finish this purchase in the very near future.
